About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist – Merchant Acquiring to support one of the leading banks in Saudi Arabia. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the Merchant Acquiring Application (FIS – Cortex), ensuring continuous availability, compliance, and optimal performance. The role demands strong hands-on technical experience, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within critical banking environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for the Merchant Acquiring application (FIS – Cortex).
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for change requests, incident resolution, and system enhancements.
- Review business and technical requirements, coordinate with vendors for solution delivery, and validate vendor outputs before implementation.
- Support testing, UAT, and production deployment of application changes.
- Track and ensure scheme compliance (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, UPI) for Merchant Acquiring and manage timely deployment of related updates.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure quick resolution to maintain system uptime and transaction integrity.
- Make necessary configuration or parameter changes in Cortex, payment gateways (MPGS, Cybersource, Checkout), and transaction processing workflows.
- Support clearing and settlement processes across multiple schemes and ensure reconciliation accuracy.
- Generate reports, perform data extraction, and support analysis activities using Oracle Database tools and queries.
- Participate in periodic audits, security reviews, and performance assessments of the Merchant Acquiring systems.
- Work under pressure to manage multiple support requests and ensure timely delivery of all assigned activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of proven experience in Merchant Acquiring Application Support, preferably with FIS Cortex.
- In-depth technical expertise in Cortex configuration, transaction processing, and settlement workflows.
- Strong working knowledge of Payment Gateways (MPGS, Cybersource, Checkout).
- Experience with Scheme Clearing and Settlement systems (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, UPI).
- Proficient in Oracle Database — ability to write SQL queries, extract data, and generate operational reports.
- Solid understanding of banking payment systems, merchant lifecycle management, and acquiring business processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.
- Experience managing vendor interactions and delivering within strict compliance timelines.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications in Payment Systems, FIS Cortex, or Oracle Database are advantageous.
